We made a series of videos for ALIS Tech
ALIS Tech approached us with a demand to make a series of videos for use in business meetings, trade fairs and on the Internet.
The main emphasis was on a clear presentation of the products incorporated into the simple story of the warehouse worker from his arrival to work to his return home. The outputs were aimed at Czech and English speaking audiences, so we shot the whole project twice – once in English and again in Czech.
Post-production was diverse this time. The client requested another separate versions of the video for trade fairs, where the whole presentation is supposed to work without sound and without a narrator, but at the same time it has to communicate everything necessary. In short, we submitted a total of 8 outputs including short micro videos about individual projects and including various language versions.
The project was specific mainly due to its warehouse environment and the mentioned bilingualism. So Viktor, who played the narrator, had to learn all the texts for shooting both in Czech and English. Due to the need to reduce the cost of video recording, we agreed with the company to arrange some parts of the production themselves. Locations, forklifts and other actors have been perfectly arranged by the company and we were able to significantly reduce the price for the entire production.
We had a good feeling before the shooting and we believed everything would turn out well. But shooting days are always a bit of a living organism and it has to be taken into account. Even in this case, we did not avoid the stress.
The management of the company, which saw the presentation of the product during the live filming, decided to change the text that the narrator should say during the filming of the vibrating bracelet scene. This means that the whole paragraph had to change not only in Czech but also in English. Rewriting it on the spot was not such a problem, but worse in terms of time. The camera was already set up and ready to shoot, and at the same time we had a lot of filming in front of us that just had to make it that day. What now?
Viktor does not know the new changed texts he is supposed to present to the camera literally in a minute:
„Lokátor na vysokozdvižném vozíku komunikuje s osobním lokátorem – například kartou nebo náramkem. Ten může vibrací upozornit na nebezpečí a zároveň vozíku sníží rychlost. A pozor — lokátory lze nainstalovat i na více vozíků a předejít tak jejich srážce!“
„The locator on the forklift communicates with a personal locator—for example a card or a bracelet—which can vibrate to notify of incoming danger and even slow a forklift down. And what’s more — locators can be installed on more forklifts to prevent their collision!
Well, try to read it twice and then recite it without a mistake in one shot on the camera. Can’t you? Yes, but hardly. 🙂 In the end we filmed the scene without much delay and flexibly complied with the changes.
We were most afraid that we wouldn’t be able to shoot the entire project on the set shooting days. That we might forget to prepare something, that there would be a problem with the other actors that the client should have arranged for himself, but fortunately everything went well beyond expectations. The client arranged everything he had and we did not forget anything.
It is a pleasure if all the components of production work as they should. Just more projects like this for ALIS Tech!
